Admissions Information

Generally, applications are made for the following school year, however, admissions from September to June are accepted if space is available and placement of your child has been approved following interviews with the parents and student.
The Dunblaine School accepts students on an individualized basis, taking into account the programs being offered, the student’s abilities, and the opportunity for student progress in our school setting.
Documentation Requirements
So that each individual child may receive an optimal learning experience within our academically skill based programme, a psycho-educational assessment must be obtained by a certified psychologist experienced with the LD population and completed within the last three years for children nine years and older.
We understand that the validity of IQ of children under the age of nine is questionable and thus is not mandatory, but should still be considered. The report should include:
- A specific diagnosis of a Learning Disability based on comprehensive tests such as The Weschler Intelligence Scale for Children(WISC), Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scale(The Binet), Wide Range Achievement Test(WRAT) and the Woodcock.
- Current scores for all tests
- Recommendations for accommodations including rational
- Relevant educational, developmental and medical history
- A clinical summary ruling out emotional problems, cultural/linguistic differences, visual, hearing or motor impairments and /or intellectual delay.
